From Sketch to Silk: The Wild Flower Scarf
The Wild Flower Scarf was inspired by Emily's childhood growing up in the British countryside - a place where daffodils, foxgloves, brambles and meadow flowers shaped her earliest memories of nature. This design brings together those elements as well as wasps and swallowtail butterflies, in a detailed hand-drawn composition that reflects the beauty and complexity of British botanicals.
Foxgloves are also featured, which are fascinating plants known for their beautiful, tubular flowers yet potent toxicity. While it can be deadly if ingested, it's also the source of a life-saving heart medication. Foxgloves are a common sight in woodlands and gardens, and they play an important role in supporting pollinators like bumblebees and moths.
This was also the final piece Emily created in this collection which she included as a backup, and unexpectedly it’s become the best-selling design of all time.
All elements in this design were hand drawn by Emily with pen & paper.
