I had the immense pleasure of visiting the ZSL London Zoological Archives where they hold thousands of copies of original hand painted lithographs of scientific illustrations. These scientific illustrations date back to the 16th century and some of which haven't been seen or digitally recreated. Some of the illustrators included Ernst Haeckle, one of my all time favourite illustrators, Edward Lear, John Curtis and a new discovery Marie Merion, who's work on insects is the finest I have ever seen.
